Why we should eat bugs

I am learning to persuade my audience

By Siena

Have you always wanted to add the crunch back into your dinners, The excitement into your meals and the flavour back into your dishes? Then I definitely recommend that you start eating with bugs! I believe that us human beings should consider cooking with bugs because eating them won’t just reduce greenhouse gases but you can try different meals!

America, Ireland, China and so many other countries have come up with delicious meals already! Like mealworm fries and spicy critter fritters! My three main points is that you can be trendy with “bug-alicious” meals that are sweet and savory , my second point is that

Eating insects will help to reduce greenhouse gases and my third point is that you will be gaining a lot of health benefits.

America, Ireland, China, Thailand and Australia are only a handful of the range of countries that cook with bugs like mealworm fries, fried grasshopper and spicy critter fritters, I have already given three great dinner meals that you could have for tea tonight! Every child and adult has a sweet tooth at times so why not try a caramelised cricket cheesecake or a scorpion lollipop or even better, chocolate covered crickets! These are only many of the dishes you could cook with to give your friends and family a spectacular surprise that will reduce greenhouse gases!

As I mentioned before, if you decide to eat with bugs you won’t just boost your health but you will be helping to save our planet, we all know that supermarkets are reducing plastic bags to help our planet but maybe that’s not just the answer. It is true that eating bugs will reduce greenhouse gases because a cow does 70kg - 120kgs of methane a year. Methane is a greenhouse gas and the bad effect of it is that the climate of it is 23 times higher than the effect of CO2 ( a colourless, odorless, incombustible gas) and it will reduce and help our ozone layers giant holes, WHICH is a big problem in New Zealand . So what does this mean? means that eating a grasshopper in our cake, a mealworm in our fries, a scorpion in our lollipop and a cricket smothered in chocolate could actually save our planet. Besides, bugs are seriously healthy!

Nutrition , protein , zinc and iron are only many of the beneficial standards that a human needs and the answer to eating different is right under your nose! AHA, bugs! They have been right outside the whole time! And we all think that they are creepy-crawly spine-shivering creatures that give us bites time to time but it’s cruel how we don’t think about how healthy they are. Mealworm fries, they are the healthiest bug you can eat because they have the highest protein value. as high as 2 eggs to be exact! It may sound disgusting but I assure you it’s a nice crunchy treat with a bug hidden inside!

As you can see, eating bugs is a great way to try different things! It’s not just that, but you will also be helping our (New Zealand) ozone layer that has many holes within. And lastly bugs are full of protein, zinc and iron. So why not try a bug today? They are so healthy and give us a nice crunch in our meals! In my opinion bugs are a great way to try something different whilst getting all the nutrition, protein and other health benefits that we need… So why not try a bug today?!

symmetry

In maths we have been learning about symmetry. how things are rotated/folded and match up perfectly, basically mirroring, here is my project.

Gadgets, has one line of symmetry as it is a construction hat (on the left) and their slogan is; "Inspire, Think, Create."

Dudes, also has one line of symmetry, which is a blue t-shirt, (in the middle) and their slogan is;" Dudes, instant, radical, ready for you."

Sweeties!, which does not have any lines of symmetry though it would if i removed the logo (on the right) and their logo is; "Tasty treats that are good for your teeth"

Algebra

In Maths, We have been learning about algebra we learnt that algebra is a puzzle, here is an example;

X 𝒙 Y
X=10
Y=5
10 x 5=50
